Description

Microworms (Panagrellus redivivus) are nematodes or roundworms and are often referred to as sour paste nematodes or beer mat nematodes. They typically measure approximately 50 micrometers in diameter and can reach up to 2 mm – perfect for the mouths of newly hatched fish fry. The active movement of microworms in water serves as a powerful stimulus, encouraging the natural foraging behavior of fish. Furthermore, their high digestibility minimizes the metabolic burden on the delicate digestive systems of young fish, contributing to their overall health and development. They are nutritious and contain protein, glycogen, polyunsaturated fatty acids, amino and amino acids.

I will supply you with a starter culture, yeast (microworm food), a minimum 20,000 microworms of various life stages in 10-15 ml water in a culture flask, pipette and instructions about how to start your own culture. While waiting for your culture to grow (usually takes 3 to 7 days) you can feed your fry the microworms supplied.

Postage: I will post on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday using Royal Mail First class and they should arrive in 1 to 2 days. When you receive the worms please loosen the cap of the flask and stick in the fridge.
